Use scaffold boards to deck each level of scaffold before installing the next level.

• Lap scaffold planks 6 inches on each side crossing the top rail of the jacks. 

• Cleat or nail boards together if necessary, to ensure they do not shift or slip during use.

• Use appropriate boards Usually scaffold boards are planks either grade-stamped number.

• Discard any split and  damaged scaffold boards.

• Standard jacks are spaced 7 feet  on center so 8 foot  and 16 foot  boards are standard.
